Sustainability Report 2022 - Steps forward even during difficult times
In 2021 we launched our first Sustainability Report in collaboration with Almi, a business development organization owned by the Swedish state. We are now launching our second report, showing the progress and the steps taken. We are proud to see that progress has been made even though there has been processes that has been delayed due to covid, but through the process with the Sustainability Report we keep track of our key target goals.
From the very beginning, Stierna had the issue of sustainability as one of the parameters in their ambition to develop technical equestrian clothing with high functionality for active riders. The phrase ”Buy less, choose well, make it last”, a quote by fashion queen Vivienne Westwood, has become a mantra for Stierna’s product development.
- We constantly strive to become a more sustainable company. We must all relate to our limitations, but there is always more you can do, and it is important to have a plan for the journey ahead and have the right partners along the way, says Helena Strömbäck.
- We already had a sustainability statement and a CSR statement, but we put the entire form and packaging in this report. When we built the content, there were many thoughts here and there to find, not only the structure and the flow, but also to show our values and what we stand for. Now we have a structure to build on and, in the years to come we can show the process and the journey forward, says Robert.
We are not ready because we have made a sustainability report, but now we have a foundation and tools to take the next step, says Helena.
- Our sustainability report will be part of our company’s transparency. It will be on the website and shows what it looks like with us. As we sell a lot to professionals who have a claim to know who they are buying from, we must be able to answer that. We know that our customers care about sustainability, but they do not always have the time, energy, or opportunity to take a stand on all the details. So, we want them to feel safe that we take care of it for them, says Robert.
